The Historic and Present Day
By an appreciative rail fan and admirer of the hundred mile short line, that defied, weather, mountains, time and economics, for the longest time.

On one of my visits to McCloud (which I can unfortunately number on one hand.) I was standing around the station waiting for an excursion to arrive when I heard a whistle.  It wasn't a horn...but a whistle, the kind a steam engine makes. I had to go find out what it was! Apparently the MCRY had arranged for a photographer to come by that day and take some PR shots of #25 dragging so MR Box cars along the north Leg of the McCloud Yard wye. Now anyone who might now the yard layout knows that track is nearly a half mile from the station so I was busting a gut all the way trying to get there in time to take a picture and stopping (as a got close to snap what I could, here is the result.
Nearly in cardiac arrest, I made it to the scene, perched on the rise is the 'professional" taking the pictures
